Tribe Digital can get you down to 1-2 hours per month while growing your account, email list, and deal flow faster.

Hey!

This week, we're taking a look at Sam Parr's account.

One of the best ways to improve your content on any platform is to find the people who are winning the most and see what they're doing.

So let's get into it!

I've followed Sam on X for years, listened to his podcast, and really like his content. So this was a fun one to do.

Quick highlights:

  • Followers: 87,411
  • # of posts (last 30 days): 82!!
  • Post types
    • Text: 8
    • Carousel: 4
    • Image: 13
    • Video: 57!!
    • Giveaway: 0
  • Posts with link or comment-to-get CTAs: 15 (mostly link to the YT video then a link to join hampton newsletter)

Best two posts (by likes):

1/ Shaan and I just had Ray Dalio by the Hampton office for an episode of MFM.

2/ I’m reading a book that’s so depressing that it has made me happy.

Insights & Takeaways

1/ His featured post his is his async digital product. He's stated he makes a few hundred thousand dollars per year through this. It's a 10-day course on copywriting, one lesson per day. I took it a while back and enjoyed it (you can see it here). Clearly, he likes to make money.

2/ His content reflects his business. He's not trying to "max" booked calls for an agency service. He's trying to portray himself and his company in a certain light because he wants Hampton, a $10k/yr founder's community, to feel exclusive and get you to want to join. But then they have heavy qualifications and they can only grow so fast, so it's all about increasing demand until there's enough demand to open a new "chapter." So his content across all platforms is a little less "offer specific" and more focused on stuff that founders might find interesting.

3/ His podcast serves as a great middle-of-funnel tool. Most people who know Sam know him well because they listen to his podcast. People find out about it through social channels, for the most part. YouTube, X, and even LinkedIn. Several of his posts each week are promoting a specific episode.

4/ He cross-posts a lot from X to LI. For example, he tweeted "I've never read The Power Broker. I want to, but it's a big commitment. Is it worth it." Then I saw the same post on his LI. Write once, distribute twice.

5/ He posted 82 times in the last 30 days!! Another person not "following the daily post advice." The truth is, you can make a lot of different content schedules work. My guess is Sam cross-posts a lot of tweets, then he has someone on his team creating the pod promotion posts, and probably some additional posts as well.

6/ 57 of his posts were videos! I will say, they're not all crushing it. Plenty are getting 10 likes and 1 comment. High-level, I'd say his LI strategy is working but not optimal.

7/ Personal stuff crushes. Just take a look at the post below.

And that's it.

Two questions for you:

  1. Anything new or interesting you learned from this?
  2. Who would you like me to cover next? (I genuinely add them to my list.)

Best,

Matthew
