Hey! This week, we're taking a look at Matt Gray's account. As you are aware, studying the people who are winning is one of the best ways to learn how to get better. It's why Warren Buffet worked for Benjamin Graham. These Saturday LinkedIn account breakdowns are my attempt to do this. Quick highlights:
Best two posts (by likes):1/ Life hacks I know at 36, I wish I knew at 19: 1. Learn Storytelling 2/ Sales are simple when you understand this secret: The moment you start selling, you've lost. Insights & Takeaways1/ Matt Gray gets 50+ reposts on his average post. A lot of people share his content. Why? Two reasons: first, he asks people to repost it to their network. Second, the images he uses are usually pretty shareable. Takeaway: Ask people to repost it if it's good and use shareable images. 2/ He posts daily. If you've been following for a while, you know that's the normal cadence for these top creators. Some exceed it, but it still works for most of the top dogs. Takeaway: If you're only posting 1x per week and want to get a lot more traffic, consider daily. 3/ Images over videos. Matt is big on IG and YouTube. He could be throwing tons of video content into his LinkedIn. But what's interesting is he grew his LinkedIn big before getting onto the video platforms (AKA he knows how LI works). He's not big on LI because he's big on the other platforms, he's big on LI because he knows how to win there. Takeaway: Images *often* outperform videos on LinkedIn. 4/ Most of his images are hand-written pages. This shows effort. Even if he's not personally the one writing them. Great way to stand out. And yes, AI can do this for you, but people can usually tell. Better to make it real if you want to outperform. Takeaway: Try a hand-written image for your post. 5/ He CTAs in every post, without fail. It's either pushing a lead magnet or a live workshop. He builds his email list, then uses workshops for conversion. He gets tremendous reach *even* with daily CTAs. Takeaway: Probably worth CTA'ing in more of your posts. And that's it. Two questions for you:
