Hey! This week, we're taking a look at Alvin Foo's account. One of the best ways to improve your content on any platform is to find the people who are winning the most and see what they're doing. So let's get into it! Quick highlights:
Best two posts (by likes):1/ Japan world cup exit moment 2/ The AI Blackboard Insights & Takeaways1/ Alvin posts 16x...per day!! If you've seen any other LinkedIn account breakdowns, you probably realize how crazy this is. This is making me question everything I've heard about "volume" on LinkedIn. 2/ Alvin is essentially a news account. That's why he's able to produce so much content. There's breaking news every day. He fills an interesting niche, which seems to be taking the content you'd see on X (where all the breaking news is) and live publishing it on LinkedIn. Clearly, it's working. 3/ His content performs radically different post by post. He'll have a 16,000-like post then an 8-like post. But shots on goal stays the same. He's just shooting over and over and hoping for something to go viral. 4/ He's grabbing images and videos from a bunch of sources. Sometimes I hear people who get worried about copyright. He's not worried about copyright. If there's a logo in an image, he'll leave it in. Every once in a while, he'll mention the source, but for the most part, he doesn't. Maybe this is a big liability, but it certainly is something companies overly worry about when they get 1/1000th of his reach. 5/ Trendjacking works. This is when you go and talk about a topic that's hot right now. There's already eyeballs there. You go where the eyeballs are and divert some of them to you. It IS very important when you're doing this to add some unique insight and ideally some personality. Otherwise, people never associate YOU with the piece of content. 6/ Half of the posts are videos. This also works because it's very "news-y." But video can work on LinkedIn, don't be fooled. And that's it. Two questions for you:
